American Liberty University Research Department is an establishment founded for doing research in basic research, natural science research and social science research.

ALU Research center may offer interdisciplinary programs involving faculty, students, and staff from various academic departments.

Research Approach:

The two basic research approaches are quantitative and qualitative research. Both types have different purposes. Quantitative research is statistics-based.

Different types of Research Method?

Types of the research methods according to the nature of research can be divided into two groups: Descriptive and Analytical.

Descriptive research usually involves surveys and studies that aim to identify the facts. Descriptive research methods are pretty much as they sound — they describe situations. They do not make accurate predictions, and they do not determine cause and effect. There are three main types of descriptive methods: observational methods, case-study methods and survey methods.

Classification of Research by Method Descriptive research provides information about conditions, situations, and events that occur in the present. It is also called statistical research. The main goal of this type of research is to describe the data and characteristics about what is being studied.

4 types of Quantitative research:

There are four main types of quantitative research designs: descriptive, correlational, quasi-experimental and experimental.

6 types of Qualitative research:

A popular and helpful categorization separate qualitative methods into six groups: phenomenological model, the ethnographic model, grounded theory, case study, historical model and the narrative model.

The main difference between inductive and deductive approaches to research is that whilst a deductive approach is aimed and testing theory, an inductive approach is concerned with the generation of new theory emerging from the data.

Research tools and techniques:

Research is basically a term used for a systematic search for getting relevant answers on any taken up topic. Methodology may be understood as all those methods and techniques that are used for conducting a particular research. It may include the methods of data collection, statistical tools for analyzing the data, publication research, interviews, surveys and other research techniques, and could include both present and historical information etc.

The research based on application:

Basic research: This research is conducted largely for the enhancement of knowledge, and is research which does not have immediate commercial potential.

Library Research involves the step-by-step process used to gather information in order to write a paper, create a presentation, or complete a project.
