College of Computer Science and Technology
Computer science is the systematic study of algorithmic
processes that describe and transform information: their
theory, analysis, design, efficiency, implementation, and
application. It is a broad discipline with an ever-growing
array of opportunities. A degree in computer science from
the American Liberty University prepares a student for a
lifetime of discovery. It enables the graduate to advance
the state of the art in computing, not merely to keep up
with it. The programs develop the student's critical thinking,
investigatory, and expository skills. The student will learn
the foundations of computer science theory and practice,
and the interaction between the two.
The College of Computer Science and Technology offers
programs leading to the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in
Computer Science.
The University provides a comprehensive set of high quality
programs in the areas of undergraduate, graduate and professional
education to the students.
The faculty is committed to excellence in both teaching
and research. Research is focused in the following areas:
Computer Graphics Artificial Intelligence
Information Retrieval Parallel/Distributed Computing
Neural Networks & Fuzzy Sets Machine Learning
Computer Security Software Engineering
User Interface Design Data Mining
Logic Programming Automated Planning
Operating Systems Computer Networks
Image Processing
Degrees and Programs
ALU may offers degrees in Computer Science
in different concentrations and area of study as: Computer
Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Programming,
Information Technology
LICENSES/CREDENTIALS: If licensing, certification
or credentialing by a public or private agency or professional
association is the objective of the student, we recommend
that the applicant check with the authority which offers the
recognition before enrolling in the University. |
